VACHERIN MEETS HONDURAN FARMERS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THEIR AMAZING COFFEE & CSR CREDENTIALS

Yesterday, a team of Vacherin baristas visited Sustainable Bankside, the London home of Extract Coffee to hear from two farmers Rene Urrutias from El Savador and Delmy Regalado from Honduras, South America both of whom shared the importance of sustainability and community in their operations. Rene focused on the importance of biodiversity in his plantation, growing a variety of fruit trees alongside coffee that not only adds a revenue stream but also feeds farmers and diversifies local wildlife. Delmy’s farm is a certified organic coffee plantation, part of a wider cooperative, which promotes the role of gender equality in the coffee by working towards female empowerment and youth education. It was amazing to hear their stories and learn more about Extract’s Original Espresso and Organic Espresso blends which feature across our sites.

We are proud to partner with Extract Coffee who promote sustainable practices not only at source, but also in the roastery and the London community in terms of both social and environmental practices.

Their coffee tastes pretty damn good too!
