Job title: Manager | Learning and Development
Responsible to: Director | Human Resource
Responsible for: Managing the company training and development function.
Scope & general: To assume day to day responsibility for all L&D
Job purpose: To ensure we are offering the best creative and inspirational training to all our staff
Salary: £35,000 p.a
Summary of key responsibilities
To set up and establish the Vacherin training academy - Creating and delivering inspirational training programmes that are aligned with the organisation’s objectives and ethos
Acting as the go to within the business for anyone with questions or queries regarding training and development plans
Working closely with various leaders across the organisation and having a full understanding of their units and training requirements
Embracing different styles of training techniques, including e-learning, tutorial sessions or coaching
Having an awareness of the allocated budget and an ability to find solutions in order to implement the required training
Building and developing relationships with 3rd party training providers to creating unique signature training courses for all levels
Managing the development of the HR team from a training perspective
Training and developing the unique fun culture of Vacherin
To proactively drive L& D initiatives to ensure Vacherin is seen as one of the best companies to work for
Conduct training needs analysis and then design and implement a training plan with input from department heads.
Key skills and competencies
This role requires someone with excellent communication skills and who is keen to assist people with their learning and development.
Energetic, creative, enthusiastic go getter with the ability to make training both informative, inspirational and fun.
Experience in writing and delivering engaging, aspirational and dynamic training programmes at all levels.
Training and e-learning course design and budget management are essential.
Proven people management skills along with a L&D degree or formal CIPD Level 5 L&D Award (or equivalent) are essential.
Minimum 2 years in a similar role in training.
Learning and development manager will be expected to be experienced in the following:
Management, development and talent training
Designing and supplying a variety of training using all styles and mediums
Building relationships with external suppliers
Managing a training and development budgets
Excellent communication Skill in both written and spoken English
The ability to present / train to large audiences whilst keeping it engaging & fun
Knowledge of the hospitality and catering industry would be a great advantage
