Exploring the future of farming with Florette

Earlier this month, some of our chefs had the opportunity to visit Florette’s farm in Colchester, Essex for an inspiring look into the future of sustainable and innovative farming.

The team experienced the full produce journey from field to fork. The visit included a tour of the poly tunnels, a live harvesting demo, and a deep dive into seed science and the technologies shaping the future of agriculture.

The chefs also learned about Florette’s impressive biodiversity efforts, including initiatives like No-Mow May and the introduction of on-site beehives, as well as how they’re building a more resilient and efficient supply chain.

To round off the day, they even got hands-on with a fun “Plant Your Own Lettuce” activity.
