PHIL ROKER: FOODSERVICE CATERER OF THE YEAR 2019

Amidst hugely tough competition Phil was announced the winner of the Foodservice Caterer award at the 2019 Cateys, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 2nd July.

Clive Jacobs, owner of The Caterer magazine described winning a Catey as the 'pinnacle of the recipients' career'; Phil was among a very impressive line up of caterers, chefs and hoteliers - all of whom have proven that they are at the top of their game.

In choosing Phil, the judges recognised that under his leadership, Vacherin, over the past year has enjoyed unprecedented financial results, client retention and new business wins. The company has also invested in their staff, technology and continues to be a pioneer in CSR and fundraising. Indeed, in September last year, to celebrate our 15th birthday, Phil lead a team on nine Vacherin cyclists on a 700 mile bike ride from Hatton Garden to the Musee de Vacherin in the Swiss Alps. 'Le Tour de Vacherin' raised in excess of £20,000 for the Luminary Bakery - a social enterprise in Hackney which transforms the lives of disadvantaged women.

Following his win Phil thanked everyone at Vacherin and said

"I am immensely proud, and want to thank you all for your part in making/ keeping Vacherin the amazing place that it is. All the achievements listed in my nomination were down to you guys, whether it’s contract wins, retention, amazing events, great people - it’s all of our combined  efforts that have culminated in this fantastic award. So while the  trophy has my name on it, it’s an award for all of us."
